Promotion in the Namibian Defence Force Promotion in the Namibian Defence Force

The Namibian Defence Force promoted two Colonels and one Lieutenant Colonel to the ranks of Brigadier Generals and Colonel respectively with effect from 01 July 2017. Colonel Kongeni Nghoshi Shikufa and Colonel David Amutenya were promoted to the ranks of Brigadier Generals and appointed as Chief of Staff (COS) Information and Communication Technology and Chief of Staff Logistics respectively, while Lieutenant Colonel Andreas Hishidimbwa Shinana was promoted to the rank of Colonel and appointed Senior Staff Officer Feasibility Studies and Industrial Liaison.

During the conferment of ranks ceremony, Major General Ben Kadhila, Chief of Staff Joint Operations on behalf of the Chief of Defence Force (CDF) congratulated and welcomed the members in their new management positions. He informed them that promotion is about added responsibilities and therefore, cautioned them to perform well in their newly appointed positions. The promotion was necessitated by the need to fill the vacancies arising from retirements.
