The Chief of the Namibian Defence Force Lt. Gen John Mutwa accredited four Defence Attachés to the Republic of Namibia on 24 February 2017 at the Defence Headquarters in Windhoek. The four Defence Attachés from Botswana, Spain, Turkey and Pakistan replaced their predecessors whose terms ended in December 2016.  

Their roles will be to strengthen bilateral cooperation and coordinate issues of mutual interests between their respective Armed/Defence Forces and the Namibian Defence Force. Lt. Gen Mutwa assured the Defence Attachés that the Namibian Defence Force will honour its commitment to strengthen the military relations with the sister forces, adding that his office will remain open for regular consultation.

The event was attended by Her Excellency Concha Figuerola, Ambassador of the Kingdom of Spain and Her Excellency Deniz Cakar, Ambassador of Turkey who both accompanied their Defence Attachés. Generals, senior officers and officials from the Ministry of Defence also witnessed the ceremony.
