Windhoek, 25 September 2017: The Ministry of Defence new Permanent Secretary (PS), Rear Admiral (R Adm) Peter Hafeni Vilho was officially introduced to the Defence Headquarters’ staff members.
Hon. Penda Ya Ndakolo introduced and welcomed R Adm Vilho at the Ministry of Defence, saying the New PS would adapt easily because he is not new to the defence system.
R Adm Vilho has been the Navy Commander and was appointed as Permanent Secretary with effect from 01 September 2017, succeeding Mr. Petrus Shivute who went on retirement on 31st of July 2017.
On his introductory remarks, R Adm Vilho urged the defence staff to create public value in order to produce institution, enterprises, policies, programs, and projects and service that are advancing the public interest.
He also indicated that, "I too has hopes and dreams of a better defence force, and I am looking for like-minded people in the spirit of three Services; one Force; one Ministry, to join hands with me in leaving a better NDF."
